Add music downloads to your iPod with iTunes on Mac OSX
By drron | February 1, 2008
There are an infinite number of ways to get music onto your iPod or other MP3 player. We’ll be publishing additional posts for the PC version and other approaches.
To start with create a new empty folder on your computer where you collect your new purchases.
To help you get started, we’ll give you this song for free! Download (right click + “save as”) Camp Yard by Joseph Hill from the Album “Pass the Torch.” MyReggae.com sells top quality 320 kbps MP3’s, so the files are larger and take longer to download. Please be patient.
Having a problem downloading the MP3 link above?
You can save from the download click with a right mouse click:
For Mac one button mouse hold down “CTRL” key and click.
- Windows Internet Exploder – select “Save Target As …”
- Windows or Mac with Firefox – select “Save Link As …”
- Mac with Safari “Download Linked File As …”
Your browser will prompt you for where to store it.Next open iTunes.
You can download iTunes and install it easily.
Then, select “File > Add to Library” from the main menu.
If you have a lot of music in your library your newly purchased music could get lost, so I always like to create a new playlist for my new purchases.
In the image below I have already clicked the “+” plus sign in the lower left to create a new playlist. It appears highlighted as “untitled playlist.” I am naming my new playlist as “MyReggae.”
After naming the playlist, then see the graphic below and:
- click the automatically created playlist (1) “Recently added”
- Click on the song you want (2) “Camp Yard”
- Keep the mouse button down to “click and drag” the song into your new list (3) “MyReggae.”
